Lake District Guided Walk Langdale Pikes

Change of plan for day 2 of Nick & Co.'s INTO THE OUTSIDE activity weekend! Due to wet weather forecast for Sunday we brought their guided walk forward and set sail for Langdale to make the most of the break in the rain!
Having visited the Lakes a fair bit as kids, road cycling a long taken the place of hiking in the guys lives but it only took some river hopping, gully scrambling, peak bagging races and some post walk slack lining to get these guys feeling like kids again!
Starting out from Stickle Barn we dodged the weekend crowds and the Cumbria Way Ultra that taking place by heading up Stickle Ghyll the adventurous way! Some light rain was actually quite welcome on the muggy ascent but soon dried up as Stickle Tarn unveiled itself! A quick snack taking in the view was definitely that, QUICK! Within minutes our entire surroundings were totally engulfed in thick cloud - time to head off into the eery unknown!
We had the gully to ourselves and heart rates rose as the lads tackled the crux move - with style of course! Spurred on by the adrenalin rush we were on top in no time! The mountains were teasing us with split-second far reaching views, keeping the team curious about what the rest of the hike had in store!
Friendly banter and somewhat sophisticated conversation flowed as the long-legged trio cruised around Harrisons Stickle, Loft Crag and Pike O Stickle before hitting Stakes Pass and descending into Mickleden with views of the Gimmer, White and Raven Crags towering above us.
14km later, amazed to still be dry and having had the summits pretty much to ourselves, a hearty pub celebration was due! Stickle Barn produced an amazing Cumbrian spread and local brews as well as slack line to test the guys' grace and elegance... I don't think they'll be taking it up professionally... this year at least!
Such an enjoyable day with this genuine, down to earth, fun loving and interesting group of friends! Time to rest the legs but not for long, the Ghyll won't scramble itself tomorrow!
Bye for now Adventurers!
